I've been selling on Etsy for years. Like a lot of sellers, I spent a long time thinking I had a handle on my numbers because I could see revenue in the Etsy dashboard. But revenue isn't profit. Without tracking shipping costs, ad spend, and fees all in one place, I had no real idea whether I was actually making money.
I started with a spreadsheet. It worked, but it was slow to update and easy to let slip. So I built something better: a proper dashboard where I could enter a handful of numbers each month and see what was really happening. Profit. Margin. Cost per sale. Year-over-year. It changed how I ran the shop.
